T o
My Fellow Infection Control Preventionist!
Two thousand and ten has come and gone and here we are in
2011 – continuing what we love to do, preventing the spread
of infection in multiple settings through our continued
efforts in education, collaboration, and active involvement
in activities where our voices need to be heard. Northern
New Jersey APIC remains strong in helping to shape not only
our profession but also our infection control practices that
are rooted in evidence-based practices.
Our challenges are daunting as we face not only our
day-to-day work as ICPs but also as we accommodate extra
responsibilities that come our way. Additionally, there are
still the mandated infections data and statistics reporting
and the regulatory- related activities that we continue to
see more and more that need to be done! NNJ APIC hopefully,
is here to support and be responsive to the needs of our
members as we all work together to make a difference on the
things that we do everyday.
With that, I welcome you all to NNJ APIC and I am honored to
serve as your president for 2011. Moving forward, I am
counting on everyone’s talents, expertise, passion and
commitment as we join forces to make the APIC difference!
Sincerely,
Norma Abat Atienza, BSN, MPA, RN, CIC, CPHQ
2011 NNJ APIC President
